Step back in time by and visit the last remaining court of Back to Back housing in the Midlands This courtyard of Back to Backs has been carefully restored to reflect four different time periods. Visitors can explore the four houses on a guided tour, visit the 1930s sweet shop for a taste of nostalgia and browse through the interactive exhibition and learn more about the lives of the ordinary people who made Birmingham an extraordinary city.

Detailed Information

Admission to the Back to Backs is by guided tour only. As capacity is limited advanced booking is highly recommended. There are several sets of steep winding stairs throughout the course of the tour. Limited Access Tours are available for visitors who feel they are unable to manage the stairs. For information on limited access tours and access issues please contact the booking line.

  • Tuesday - Sunday 10-5pm.
  • Open Bank Holidays Monday and closed the Tuesday after
  • Adult £5.40.

  • Family £13.50 (two adults and three children).
