The Old Crown

Birmingham Conservation Group advises on developments affecting historic buildings, archaeological sites and historic landscapes. It promotes the city’s historic environment through publications, illustrated talks and guided walks, undertakes primary research into and maintains records of the historic environment. It initiates, encourages, supports and attracts funding for recording, protecting and promoting the historic environment.

  • The Group comprises staff with expertise in conservation planning, archaeology, architecture, architectural history and documentary research. From Longbridge to Four Oaks and from Sheldon to Quinton, the group deals with such diverse sites and landscapes as Metchley Roman Fort, the Old Crown in Deritend, Aston Hall Park, the Jewellery Quarter and Wake Green Road prefabs.
